… this site actually has nothing to do with ducks. It’s Tower of Turtles. Tower of Ducks would just be silly.

And - sigh - ok, let me also offer this explanation of the original ‘tower of turtles’ concept. This is for all you search engine users who are not looking for good times with comics and cartoons, but are just wondering about the phrase ‘tower of turtles’.

The ‘tower of turtles’ theory is an explanation for our universe; it’s also a symbol of infinity, eternity, and other concepts that science and the human mind struggle to understand.

There is the world, and we live on it. But what does the world rest upon? The idea is it rests on the back of a giant turtle. But what does that turtle rest upon? It rests on the back of another giant turtle. And so on. To infinity.

The legend (as described by Stephen Hawking, I think) is that this theory was brought up by an old woman at some kind of astrophysics conference. She told the speaker that the world is flat and it balances upon the back of a giant turtle. “Sure, but what does the turtle rest upon?” the scientist rebutted. To which the woman answered, “Why, it’s turtles all the way down.”

Bam. I think after that, the scientist’s head exploded.
