New Comic: Overfishing

A new comic is posted: overfishing.

Overfishing is a serious problem that needs more patrolling and more resources.

Overfishing. A serious problem in the workplace.

New Comic: Robot Dreams

A new comic has been posted: Robot Dreams. The story of yet another failed dream. Responsibility can be a real drain.

Another failed (robot) dream

Incidentally, if you are wondering about the reality of the scenario in this comic, the robots involved overcame the limitations of the three laws of robotics. This permitted them to harm humans. Ironically, it was the magnetic fields present in the factories where humans put them to work that altered their positronic brains in a way that dissolved the requirement to adhere to the three laws, while keeping the remainder of the brain intact.

New Comic: Slow and Steady

A new comic is posted: slow and steady. Even the underdogs and the humiliated can get cocky.

Or, slow and slimy.

New Comic: Bathos

A new comic is posted: bathos. Language jokes are the vogue right now.

Bathos, by the way, is a literary device used to create an anticlimax, or an irony that draws attention away from the humour. Yep.

I should probably also say I was kind of thinking this way after reading a bunch of “Cyanide and Happiness” comics, which has a particular bathetic style.

New Comic: Dagnabbit!

A new comic is posted: dagnabbit! (That’s the name of the comic; I’m not cantankerous about the fact that a comic is posted).

What’s the best college for linguistics? I bet you’ve wondered. Well, to anyone in the biz, that answer is clear.

What's the best college, dagnabbit?

New Comic: Too Slow…

A new comic is posted. Sigh, even the turtles can’t save us from anthropogenic climate change…

Can the turtles save us from anthropogenic climate change? Only if they're fast.

New Comic: Monckton Tours Australia

A new comic is on the site. Here’s the link. Or click on the picture below. You can comment too. Go on, start a debate.

Wow! Viscount “Lord” Monckton is coming to Australia to tell us all he knows about climate change and science and stuff! Did you know that, according to Monckton, human-made climate change doesn’t exist, greenhouse gases are good for us, and environmentalists are actually communists plotting to destroy the West?

Whoah - I can’t believe I didn’t even realise that people I worked and fraternised with were actually communists wanting to destroy my country! Man, they fooled me good.

What a really lucky thing we have Monckton, the Lord and scientist to tell us the truth!

Oh wait, actually he’s not really a Lord. Oh wait, actually he’s not a scientist either.

Hm, apparently the force to his arguments is founded solely on his amazing ability for bombast.

Still, right wing loonies all over the country must be going crazy with anticipation, itching to hear someone confidently repeat what they wish was true. They even raised the money to bring him here.

It’s just like the other day when I said “What a shame 3000 people were killed in the WTC disaster. I wish that the 9-11 attack never happened.” So I typed “9-11 never happened” into google to check. And whoah, guess what, apparently it never did happen! I feel much better now.

Anyway, here is a new comic to ‘celebrate’ the visit of this ridiculous man to our increasingly ridiculous country.

Don’t worry. Despite the frightening realism of this picture, the comic itself isn’t that scary.  Or is it?

Tower of Turtles: Now downgraded to lower quality!

Great news! I’ve decided to dramatically reduce the quality of the site!

Colour? Phht, that’s for loser slowpokes.

Drawing with photoshop and graphics tablets? Phht, that’s for, um, loser photoshop guys with graphics tablets.

Actually, I used to have a graphics tablet. It bit the dust. But I see this development as a sign that I should stop wasting time mucking around with colour and graphics and just upload lower quality scribbles to the site. No really, that’ll be better. Maybe I can even add more than one post a year.

Here’s a little taste of the kind of art that’ll soon be gracing this site:

Oh yeah!

New Comic: Choose your own adventure.

A new comic is posted.  Choose your own adventure! Click below to see it.  You can comment on it below too.  If you want to read a little about metafiction, have a look here.

Perhaps even more amazing is that - whoah! - the site is actually back on line! There was this unfortunate down time for the last year, during which I lay on the carpet.

I guess the first comic on this site is really a metafiction thing as well. “What? The character is late for the joke, so I don’t get to hear it? This comic just BLEW MY MIND.”
